Press Assistant

Andy Beshear for Governor is seeking a Press Assistant to join our communications team for the 2023 cycle. We are looking for smart, hard-working and passionate individuals who are ready to join a fast-paced team to reelect Governor Andy Beshear this year. This is a full-time, in-person position that reports to the Communications Director.

Responsibilities:

• Draft materials including statements, press releases and media advisories
• Real time media monitoring
• Maintain press lists and ensuring organization of press materials
• Assist the Communications Director and campaign team with events and staffing
• Other responsibilities as needed

‍

Preferred Qualifications:

• Interest and background working in politics, with preference given to those with experience in Kentucky
• Strong writing and time management skills
• Experience in basic communications tasks like media monitoring
• Prior professional experience in political communications is preferred but not required

Compensation: $4,000 per month plus 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance benefits.
