Today, Kentucky Democratic Party (KDP) Chair Colmon Elridge released the following statement on the reverse Robin Hood budget Republicans are trying to ram through the U.S. Senate this week. If passed, the bill would kick hundreds of thousands of Kentuckians off of their health care and add trillions to the debt — all to pay for tax cuts that benefit the wealthiest Americans:

“The reality of the big ugly bill in Kentucky is that 20,000 health care workers will lose their jobs, 35 rural communities will lose their hospitals, and thousands of our children will grow up hungry and without health care. Families who can still afford to see a doctor will have fewer options and longer drives. Full-time workers will become full-time caregivers for loved ones losing critical care. Elected officials who loot nearly $1 trillion from Medicaid cannot claim to represent the interests of working people.”
