Today, in solidarity with union leaders, the Kentucky Democratic Party (KDP) released the following statement recognizing Kentucky workers on Labor Day and stressing the importance of electing leaders who will serve the best interests of hard-working Kentuckians and their families:
"This Labor Day, we honor the hard work and resilience of Kentucky’s working families,” said KY State AFL-CIO President Dustin Reinstedler. “From our factory floors to our classrooms, every worker deserves dignity, fair pay, safety and a voice on the job. Together, we fight for a Kentucky where work lifts people up instead of leaving them behind."
“Kentucky is home to some of the country’s hardest workers, including a growing number of union members,” said KDP Chair Colmon Elridge. “Unfortunately, they are under constant attack from Kentucky Republicans in Congress and the General Assembly, who are determined to strip them of everything from lunch breaks to life-saving safety policies. Democrats have always fought back, and as the Trump administration rips up union contracts, and the Trump Tax decreases the value of every hard-earned dollar, we remain the only party focused on making sure Kentucky’s working families have what they need to thrive.”
