FRANKFORT, Ky. – Today, after Republican members of Kentucky’s congressional delegation voted to end health insurance tax credits for working families, Kentucky Democratic Party (KDP) Chair Colmon Elridge released the following statement denouncing the GOP’s failure to protect Kentucky families from the devastating effects of skyrocketing health care costs:

“As thousands of Kentuckians face the loss of life-saving health care, hospitals and jobs as a direct result of President Trump’s federal budget, members of Kentucky’s Republican congressional delegation have added insult to injury by voting to make health care even more expensive. When premiums increase by triple digits for an estimated 100,000 Kentuckians next month, Kentucky families who are already struggling under the weight of a GOP-created cost of living crisis will know it is because their Republican elected officials chose to extend huge tax breaks for billionaires — but not for their constituents being forced to choose between buying groceries and medicine.”
