FRANKFORT, Ky. – Today, on the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson, Kentucky Democratic Party (KDP) Executive Director Morgan Eaves released the following statement on the dire impact Dobbs has had on women’s health care across the Commonwealth, and across the country:
“Three years ago today, Dobbs took away the right for women to make their own health care decisions, paving the way for GOP-led states like Kentucky to implement laws that put women’s lives at risk. Since then, Kentucky women have lived under one of the most draconian laws in the country, one that provides women and girls with no options, even if they’re victims of rape or incest or are facing a nonviable pregnancy. The GOP’s war on women’s health care continues in the form of cuts to Medicaid that would devastate Kentucky communities and make it harder for women and girls to get the critical care they need. Women deserve elected officials who will fight for their freedoms and protect their rights. Democrats will never stop fighting to give them the representation they deserve.”
