KDP Statement on Federal Jobs Report Showing Economic Decline, Rising Unemployment

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Today, on the heels of a jobs report showing the Trump administration’s Iran war and economic policies continue to slow economic growth and drive unemployment higher, Kentucky Democratic Party (KDP) Chair Colmon Elridge released the following statement:

“Today’s jobs report confirms what Kentuckians already know: Trump and the Republicans enabling him are driving up costs and making it harder to find good-paying jobs. Kentuckians are working harder for less in return, as the gap between inflation and wages grows to levels unseen since the pandemic.

“It’s past time for Republicans to join Democrats in calling for an end to Trump’s war of choice, and the economic pain it’s continuing to cause Kentucky businesses, farmers and families.”
