KDP Statement on President Trump’s Job-Killing Agenda and Failing Economy

Today, on the heels of another dismal jobs report, Kentucky Democratic Party (KDP) Chair Colmon Elridge released the following statement on President Trump’s failing economy, marked by skyrocketing prices and rising unemployment:

“Trump promised tariffs would ignite American manufacturing. Instead, factories are slowing down, small businesses are closing and Kentucky families are being forced to pay a $2,300 Trump Tax. The federal budget is getting job-creating projects canceled, and Medicaid cuts are on track to leave up to 20,000 Kentucky health care workers unemployed. In blindly following Trump's orders, Kentucky's Republican congressmen are doing more to protect his ego than they are the lives and livelihoods of their constituents. Thankfully, Democrats like Gov. Beshear continue to bring investments and good-paying jobs to the Commonwealth."
