KDP Statement on President Trump’s Voter-Suppressing Executive Order

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Today, Kentucky Democratic Party (KDP) Chair Colmon Elridge released the following statement on President Trump’s executive order to suppress voting rights:

“President Trump is attempting to create a national voter list so he can choose which kinds of voters get to vote. If he is allowed to proceed, the result will be U.S. citizens stripped, without due process, of their constitutional right to the ballot. Trump’s record in office is so abysmal that he speaks openly about changing the rules of elections so his party can remain in power. This illegal act is more of the same.”
