KDP Statement on Ralph Alvarado and House Speaker Mike Johnson

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Today, as Zach Dembo’s opponent and former governor Matt Bevin’s running mate Ralph Alvarado campaigns alongside D.C. insider and House Speaker Mike Johnson, Kentucky Democratic Party (KDP) Chair Colmon Elridge released the following statement:

“Ralph Alvarado has now campaigned alongside disgraced former Governor Matt Bevin, RFK Jr. and the Republican House Speaker who just pledged to do ‘exactly what we have been doing already’ in Congress. That means more extreme cuts to Medicaid, no oversight of Trump’s tariffs and wars, and a plan to short seniors who rely on Social Security and Medicare.

“Mike Johnson’s promise makes the choice clear: if you want unchecked price hikes and corporate tax handouts at the expense of Kentucky’s life-saving programs, vote for Ralph Alvarado. If you want something better for yourself and your family, choose Zach Dembo and the Democrats who will always choose you.”
