KDP Statement on Ralph Alvarado Scrubbing Trump From Campaign Materials
August 26, 2026 · Kentucky Democratic Party
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Today, in response to an NBC report on Ralph Alvarado scrubbing references to President Trump from his campaign materials, Kentucky Democratic Party (KDP) Chair Colmon Elridge released the following statement:
“The only consistent things about Matt Bevin’s running mate Ralph Alvarado are his self-serving conduct and his terrible judgement. Despite a primary campaign in which he received Trump’s ‘complete and total endorsement,’ promising ‘I will not let [him] down,’ Alvarado is now desperately trying to cover up his support for the president’s policies that are making everyday life impossible for Kentucky families.
“If Alvarado really wanted to distance himself from Trump, he would join Democrats in calling out Trump’s illegal tariffs that are bankrupting farmers and small businesses, forever wars that make gas and groceries unaffordable and the largest cuts to SNAP and Medicaid in history. But he won’t do that, just like he won’t call out his old running mate Matt Bevin for fleeing Kentucky as a fugitive.”
