KDP Statement on Sharp Hiring Decrease Caused by Trump Administration

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Today, Kentucky Democratic Party (KDP) Colmon Elridge released the following statement on the dismal job report that shows hiring nationwide has decreased sharply as a direct result of President Trump’s failed economic policies — and the Kentucky Republicans who refuse to stand up to him, as his destructive tariffs force the Trump Tax on Kentucky families:

“As our country sits on the brink of recession, today’s jobs report is an indicator of failed leadership by President Trump and the Republicans enabling him. The numbers show that the health care industry is one of the few bright spots when it comes to hiring. Unfortunately, the decision by Trump and Congressional Republicans to cut more than $1 trillion from American health care is expected to cost 20,000 health care jobs in Kentucky alone, leaving Kentucky doctors and nurses out of a job and patients unable to find health care when they need it.”
