KDP Statement on Supreme Court Overturning the Trump Tax

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Today, Kentucky Democratic Party (KDP) Chair Colmon Elridge released the following statement on the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling against President Trump’s sweeping and destructive tariffs:

“Today’s Supreme Court decision is just the first step in addressing the damage Trump’s illegal tariffs have done to our Commonwealth, especially to our agricultural and bourbon industries. Kentuckians have lost not just thousands of dollars to reckless trade policies but jobs, businesses and family farms — all of which today’s ruling cannot bring back.  It’s time to implement commonsense policies where Kentuckians aren’t forced to pay higher prices on everything just because one man said so.”
