FRANKFORT, Ky. – Kentucky Democratic Party (KDP) Chair Colmon Elridge released the following statement on President Trump’s first 100 days in office, which have proven to be historic for all the wrong reasons:

“In his reelection campaign, Trump promised to focus on the economy and lowering prices. But instead he spent the past 100 days focused on personal grievances, continued to divide us with culture wars, and singlehandedly tanked the American economy with destructive tariffs. Rather than help Kentucky families with the cost of living, Trump expects them to pay a Trump Tax — estimated to add up to almost $5,000 per year. On top of this, he has slashed the agencies that deliver vital services to Americans, from Social Security to veterans’ health care, and has plans to cut Americans’ healthcare by over $800 billion. As the Kentucky GOP applauds these heartless cuts, one thing remains clear: Donald Trump plans to build an America where working families get less while paying more.”
