FRANKFORT, Ky. – Tomorrow, building on the successful Growing the Blue Dot training series, the Kentucky Democratic Party (KDP) is launching Renew the Blue, a regional training program for county parties. Democrats from the precinct level and up will learn the skills they need to build on last year’s Democratic victories, strengthen party infrastructure and support electoral success in 2026 and beyond.
“Republican policies are pushing regular people out of politics by making it harder to live, much less vote or run for office,” said KDP Chair Colmon Elridge. “This training will do the opposite by empowering everyday Kentuckians to organize effectively and promote the Democratic vision — one where all Kentuckians can access quality health care, education, good-paying jobs and a chance at a better life.”
The KDP trained over 1,000 Democrats across Kentucky in last year’s Growing the Blue Dot series. Renew the Blue sessions will also take place across the state, starting with tomorrow’s launch in Winchester. Programming will cover topics like organizing strategies, candidate support and infrastructure building.
“With more than 700 Democrats running for local offices across Kentucky and nearly 100 running for seats in the General Assembly, the KDP is training volunteers to support candidates, reach voters and ultimately win races,” said KDP Executive Director Morgan Eaves. “We’re excited to mobilize more Kentuckians around a common goal of reinforcing the American Dream.”
