KDP Statement on President Trump’s Second 2026 Rally in Kentucky

October 17, 2026 · Kentucky Democratic Party

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Today, in response to President Trump’s midterm rally in Northern Kentucky, Kentucky Democratic Party (KDP) Chair Colmon Elridge released the following statement:

“Just days ago, Trump asked ‘what the hell am I doing in Tennessee?’ Now he’s wrapping up his second trip this year to Kentucky, where he got heckled before a mostly-empty stadium.

“Why was Trump in Kentucky? To try to bail out floundering GOP candidates for Congress — even though his approval numbers here have plummeted by 33 points since he took office, as Kentuckians rightfully blame his war, tariffs and healthcare cuts for soaring prices.

“Not even ‘day one MAGA, no regrets’ Ralph Alvarado thought this rally was worth the gas money.”
